Inaugauration of Water Filter in Ashraya Children's Home

01-August-2024: A Drinking Water Filter was donated to Ashraya Children's Home. This project was inaugaurated by DG Yagyansis Mohapatra. The Project was sponsored by Rotary District 3262. 30 orphans and 10 staff members will benefit from thie Project. 7 Rotarians in addition to the DG participated. The total cost of the project was INR 20,000


Donation of Grocery in Ashraya Children's Home

01-August-2024: Grocery Items including Rice, Dal and other material was donated to Ashraya Children's Home. This donation was sone in the hands of  DG Yagyansis Mohapatra. 30 orphans and 10 staff members will benefit from thie Project. 7 Rotarians in addition to the DG participated. The total cost of the project was INR 7,000


District Seminar on Organ Donation

13-Aug-2024: Our Club hosted the District Seminar on Organ Donation. 

Opening Remarks by Rtn. Bikramaditya Nayak laid the context of the Seminar. Dr. Pravas Acharya spoke on “Role of Media and the NGOs in Organ Donation”. Dr. Jayant Dash spoke on the topic “Skin Donation and Skin Banking: A Boon to Burn Patients”. Mr. Jitendra Sadangi demonstrated “An APP for Empowering Organ donation”. Dr. Soubhagya Das spoke on “Brain death declaration & its importance in organ donation & transplantation”. Dr. Umakant Satpathy spoke on “Role of SOTTO - The Importance of Pledging for Organ Donation”. Kamal Panda from USA presented his experience "From Aspirations to Actions: An Odiya Boy’s Journey to Promote Organ Donation". One Organ recepient spoke on Learning Directly from Organ Donors / Recipients. Rtn. Rajesh Mittal spoke on role of Rotary Action Group on Organ Donation. 

The Seminar also included multiple videos illustrating the need for Organ Donation. There was a live Q&A session where Dr. L.D.Sahu and Dr. B. Ravindran clarified the doubts.

A Special Bulletin was released on this occasion.

The Seminar was attended by over 220 participants from both Rotary and Non-Rotary fraternities. 47 participants took the pledge to donate Organs. The total cost of the project was INR 1,50,000.

For over three hours, I listened to doctors, social activists, administrators, and beneficiaries discuss various aspects of organ donation. It was a profoundly meaningful experience for me.

Donation of an Incinerator in Sriharsha Memorial School for Deaf

15-Aug-2024: Our club donated a Sanitary Napkin Incinerator to Sriharsha Memorial School. The project was sponsored by Latha Ravindran. 10 Rotarians participated. The total cost of the project was INR 20000.
